¡Hola! Soy Dominique.

Years ago, I quit my job, sold my car, and flew to Barcelona with one goal: to finally speak Spanish.

I had plenty of red-faced moments—fumbling for words, wrestling my “American accent,” and wondering if I’d ever sound like the intelligent adult I knew I was.

Wondering if fluency is really possible?

You’re not alone. I’ve been there.

But here’s the good news: with the right strategies, Spanish can click.

Since that first trip, I’ve earned a fluent C1 level, passed the DELE twice, and picked up a slightly Mexican accent that keeps people guessing where I’m from. I now speak Spanish at home and with my in-laws in Mexico City.

I’ve coached over 100 adults through the same doubts and created unique, structured programs—like the Simple Storytelling Course and the Book Club Immersion Program—to keep learners motivated and moving forward.

I’m living proof that your Spanish can transform in just a few years. (Read more about how I learned Spanish here.)

  • Draw inspiration from other adult Spanish learners.

Not even close. In fact, many people start later and succeed.

How long does it take to become fluent in Spanish?

It depends on your level, time, and consistency—but with the right structure, you can make real progress in months, not years.

If you’re wondering, “Can I learn Spanish in 3 months?” The answer is probably not under normal human time limitations and learning conditions, especially if your plan is total fluency.
