If you’ve been learning Spanish for a while, you probably don’t need more random vocabulary lists, grammar exercises, or another app telling you what to study.

You need someone to look at where you are now, figure out what’s getting in your way, and help you focus your time and energy on the things that are actually going to move your Spanish forward.

That’s what we’ll do together.

1:1 lessons might be a good fit for you if...

You already have a foundation in Spanish, but you feel a little stuck.

You’ve learned a lot over the years, but you’re not always sure what you should be working on next—or how to pull everything you know together.

You have a real reason you want to improve your Spanish.

Maybe you want to communicate more comfortably with family, travel or spend time abroad, use Spanish at work, or simply finally become the kind of Spanish speaker you’ve been working toward for years.

You’re willing to put some time into your Spanish outside of our weekly sessions.

I’ll give you a clear plan and plenty of direction, but you’ll be doing some of the work on your own too. That’s a big part of what makes this work.

You want more guidance than “just keep practicing.”

You want someone who can listen to your Spanish, look at your writing, notice the gaps, answer your questions, and tell you what I think you should focus on next.

Sound like you? Then let’s get to work!

So, what do private lessons with me actually look like?

Here’s what’s included:

✔️ 10 private 1-hour coaching sessions

We’ll meet once a week over Zoom. Your 10 sessions should be completed within four months of your first lesson, which gives us enough consistency to make progress while still leaving a little flexibility when life happens.

‍✔️ Your own personalized study plan

You won’t be following the exact same curriculum as every other student. I’ll create a plan based on your level, your goals, and what I think you need to work on next. Each week, you’ll know exactly what to work on between our sessions.

‍✔️ Weekly homework + supplementary resources

Depending on what we’re working on, I might send you to a specific workbook exercise, podcast episode, YouTube video, reading, activity, or another resource that I think will help.
‍ ‍
‍✔️ Access to my online Spanish course materials

I’ll also pull from my own library of lessons and course materials when there’s something I’ve already created that makes sense for what you’re working on.

✔️ Writing assignments + LIVE editing

If writing is appropriate for your level, you’ll regularly send me writing assignments that we can pull apart and edit together during our sessions.

Instead of simply handing you a corrected version, I want you to understand why I’m making a correction and help you figure out how to say what you actually wanted to say.

‍✔️ Speaking assignments + audio feedback

You’ll have opportunities to practice speaking outside of class too. Send me your recordings and I’ll respond with personalized audio feedback on what I’m hearing and what I want you to work on next.

‍✔️ Daily access to me on WhatsApp

You don’t have to save every Spanish question until our next Zoom call. You can message me on WhatsApp between sessions to ask a question, send me a voice message, share something you came across in Spanish, get clarification on an assignment, or check in when you’re feeling stuck.

Investment: $1,500

A 3-month payment plan is available.

You may also need to purchase approximately $25–$50 in supplementary materials, such as workbooks, depending on the plan we create for you.

Think we might work well together?

Tell me a little about where you are with your Spanish and what you’re hoping to accomplish. I’ll take a look at your answers and let you know what I think the best next step is.

What other students have said about working with me…

I’ve lived in a Spanish-speaking country for many years and yet I've never being able to get beyond a high beginner level. That changed after starting private lessons with Dominique. Her curriculum, pacing, and flipped classroom teaching method has been more effective than anything else I’ve tried, incorporating speaking, pronunciation, listening, writing, reading and grammar every week, using subject matter and vocab that is relevant to my life and I can actually use day-to-day. Her online courses are well structured – every lesson adds value and is just the right length to solidify a concept. Having concepts explained by someone who has been through the process of learning the language themselves as an adult is invaluable, especially someone as kind, empathetic and encouraging as Dominique.

~ Siobhan, Granada, Spain

Dominique is a joy to work with! I needed to prepare for my trip to Panama and knew that accountability was important for getting me back into practice, shaking off the dust, and reminding me of the dedication needed for Spanish growth. I really liked the structure of writing and reading with feedback, plus the hour of conversation practice.

~ Callie, Austin, Texas

I was born in Colombia but grew up in the U.S. and never learned how to speak proper Spanish. I have been trying to connect with my roots ever since and have recently started taking yearly trips back to Colombia. Dominique is incredibly approachable and patient. She always corrects me in gentle ways that never make me feel bad if I mess up. Because of our continued work, I'm much more confident in my ability to read, write and speak in Spanish. Dominique has even inspired me to take the DELE exam!

~ Cristina, Brooklyn, New York

For my ADHD brain, Dominique has been the only teacher that keeps me on track with my Spanish. I appreciate how structured her teaching style is. I always know what's coming next and have all the tools I need to feel prepared.

~ Trevor, San Antonio, Texas

Dominique is the best Spanish teacher I've ever had. I felt like I was always stuck no matter what kind of classes I took and couldn't move on to that intermediate level. As soon as I started reading Dominique's blog, I instantly felt connected to the way she learned Spanish as an adult. She walks you through learning in a different way as she understands your specific struggles or has a little trick to help you learn it better. Whether it's her self-paced classes, private lessons, or her book immersion program - I've grown a TON from each!

~ Ashley, San Francisco, California

I struggle to understand what I’m hearing. To remedy that, Dominique included songs, personalized podcasts and live radio shows and interviews to help me start listening at a level 'just above' what I was comfortable with and thought I could manage. I’ve really improved with her help so much so that I’ve worked with her for over a year now and don’t have plans to stop!

~ Nora, Davis, California

Dominique has a talent for explaining complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand and really resonates with me. I’m inspired by her sincere passion for the Spanish language and culture and love that she constantly shares her personal journey and experiences.
